Tyrantulas

Tyrantulas is a Predacon drone from the Beast Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity family (via Legacy: United).

I'm actually the second troop builder in my box set!

Tyrantulas is a drone created by the mad Predacon Tarantulas in his own image! There's an army of these drones, and they may or may not have something to do with Jhiaxus.

Legacy: United "Beast Wars Universe Tyrantulas" (as spelled in his instructions) is a redeco and new-head retool of the Legacy Deluxe Class Tarantulas figure, in a primarily orange color scheme inspired by the prototype deco and packaging art for the original 1996 Tarantulas toy. The figure's new head is based on the original Tarantulas mold's non-mutant robot face, but in contrast to the rest of the figure, it is painted based on Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Predacon Tarantulus. He retains the same two weapon accessories as the previous release.

Tyrantulas was part of a Target-exclusive "Versus Multipacks" with Prime Universe Cliffjumper, G1 Universe Squeezeplay (with G1 Universe Lokos), and Cyberverse Universe Tarn.

• Tyrantulas's colors are based on an early deco for the original Tarantulas toy, which did get used for Tarantulas's original packaging art in addition to appearing in television commercials.
• The Tarantulas figure from the Legacy four pack doubles as the troop builder "Tyrantulas", a drone created by the original Tarantulas, courtesy of designer Mark Maher on Instagram. Though the outer packaging uses the usual spelling, the instructions sheet uses "Tyrantulas."
