Guess who's confirmed for this episode? --Hunter-113 19:13, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

EDITED FOR SPOILER --Dynamus Prime 22:01, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Disregard that, apparently it doesn't count if it hasn't aired in America.

I'm sorry we would prefer not to rely on second-hand information. And stop putting your signature on a separate line. —Interrobang 10:16, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

How to tell people NOT to update...

Do we have a big giant banner/template thing specifically for when we DO NOT want a page updated yet on pain of death, because news on something is unofficial, leeked, or simply would be an exeptionally annoying spoiler that a large chunk of the fandom may not want to know about? If yes we should put it bang at the top middle of all these upcomming episode pages. If not can we make one? --ZacWilliam 11:40, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Is the problem that we don't want a page updated until it airs in North America, or is the problem that we don't want people to fill in episode details unless they've seen the episode themselves?
I mean, if the episode aired, then the episode aired, presumably with Hasbro's approval. I would think we'd actually want to encourage our lucky non-North American counterparts to keep the wiki up to date.
If I, personally, as a resident of North America, don't want to get spoiled, it's my responsibility to stay away from the page in question. (I have the same problem with Devastation spoliers, since it hasn't been released in TPB yet.) JW 14:29, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
I actually think Devastation is in TPB now. Could have sworn I saw it at Borders. I'll have to double-check.--RosicrucianTalk 14:42, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Secondhand fillins are probably the greater concern- but really it's both. Being spoiled /badly/ by secondhand information that's been awkwardly grapevined by people wanting to shout "FIRST POST!!1" is even more annoying than simply being spoiled. -75.168.112.43 14:36, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Why is it both? I can understand not wanting to add possibly-garbled secondhand stuff. I can't understand prioritising the "Western Hemisphere" airings by themselves.
After all, GIGO was filled in before the episode aired to the Canuckleheads, and still hasn't aired in the middle bit of NA, AFAIK. Black Friday has been filled in and hasn't aired in NA at all. [Hell, Japanese episodes, including the "lost" episode of Energon, have been filled in when they're never going to air in NA at all!]
Why does a BotCon airing to a small audience get okayed, and a mass airing in a country outside of NA doesn't? - SanityOrMadness 15:14, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
I think the secondhand bit is the main concern here. A sufficient number of users were at the BotCon showings to check each other's work on those two episodes, and the spoilers have been confined to the episode articles themselves (IE they haven't been added to character articles yet). These episodes aired in the Middle East? Most of the existing synopses involve spotty reception that cut out at critical moments during the episode, and thus can't be considered reliable. As well, the episodes aren't widely available so people can't check each other's work. It just makes for bad methodology.--RosicrucianTalk 15:28, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
It also skips ahead 5 episodes in chronology, which is... spoilery-er than usual. No one's actually seen seen it except a handful of random fans- and there doesn't to be confidence that the ones updating this article are the ones who /have/ seen it. (Rather, the general belief seems to be that all the who-are-you's editing this article almost certainly haven't seen it.) That's bad, if no one's seen the episode (including the people editing it) how can we correct inaccuracies? -75.168.112.43 04:54, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
