Malleus Minotaurus
From MediaWiki
- Malleus Minotaurus is a Wrecker from the Legacy portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Malleus Minotaurus is a grey minotaur Micromaster who becomes a grey hammer. Originally Solus Prime's "little blacksmith helper", he was abducted from the Wreckers by the Mayhem Attack Squad (who didn't realize he was anything more than a mystical hammer), and now he attempts to escape the clutches of his captors![1]
Toys
[edit]Legacy
[edit]
- Wrecker Malleus Minotaurus / Chop Shop / Barrage (Multi-pack, 2024)
- Accessories: Handle/ gun, 2 blast effects
- Known designers: Mark Maher (Hasbro)[2], Amy Bence (packaging)[3]
- Legacy Malleus Minotaurus is a grey redeco of Siege Smashdown, transforming from a robotic minotaur into a hammer that other toys can wield thanks to his 5 mm-wide handle. The hammer handle can be slotted into the inside of the left forearm (under the "main" arm) to give him a blaster rifle. Otherwise, the handle either sits unused... or stays awkwardly sticking out of the robot-mode butt as a very long tail.
- Malleus Minotaurus comes with two clear blast effect parts: the first being a redeco of the original "Fire Blast" part to simulate smashing against objects, plus a new blast effect that simulates energy on the hammer face as it moves in towards a strike (so you'd use one or the other, but not both). This blast effect was originally made during Siege, and went unreleased until now.
- He was only available in a multi-pack along with Barrage and Chop Shop, as part of the Mayhem Attack Squad-themed "Doom ‘n Destruction Collection". These sets were Amazon exclusives in the US, with a small number sold through Hasbro Pulse. This set was revealed and set up for preorder on February 29, 2024.
Notes
[edit]- Malleus in Latin means "hammer", while minotaurus means "minotaur".
- Malleus is part of a long lineage of hammer accessories with ties to Solus Prime.
