Shatterpoint
- Shatterpoint is a Maximal from the Beast Era of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Shatterpoint is a highly-trained member of the elite Maximal Command Security Force. His job is to uphold the will of the Maximal Imperium on Cybertron in the name of the Pax Cybertronia. His specialty is crowd control, predicting the mob mentality and adjusting battle plans to handle large groups of opponents. He's a crack shot with his positron cannon, which can shut down or even briefly manipulate a target's motor control functions.
Unfortunately, as brilliant as he is in handling large numbers, his logical mind can't quite handle the more unpredictable nature of a single being in one-on-one combat.[1]
Fiction
[edit]Theft of the Golden Disk
[edit]When alarms warned Cybertron security about an incident at the Cybertropolis Maximal Data Archive, Shatterpoint joined Stopgap and another flying Maximal in confronting Megatron and his minions. They failed to prevent his escape. Theft of the Golden Disk
Beast Wars: Uprising
[edit]Shatterpoint was a member of the Maximal Command Security Force who seceded with the Maximal Nation from Builder control during the Grand Uprising. When all the armies of the proto-races united in the Vehicon Apocalypse, Shatterpoint and the Maximals marched on the Grand Mal in Nova Cronum.
After the war, Shatterpoint worked security for the peace summit at Dragon's Bane Cathedral in Hyperious. He was partnered with a Builder Micromaster named Wind-Sheer. They had a surprisingly amicable relationship, even though Shatterpoint disbelieved in that "Unicron" fable the Builders were always trying to spread. Derailment
Notes
[edit]- Shatterpoint, like all of the MCSF, uses the Cybertron-series Clocker toy as a base (with an Energon Shockblast head), though no official Shatterpoint toy exists (and probably never will). His color scheme is based somewhat loosely on that of Generation 1 Deluge or Generation 2 Drench. His gun, meanwhile, comes from an abandoned attempt by creator Trent Troop to recreate the shoulder cannon of Beast Machines Tankor; Troop's authorial intent was that the gun design was taken and enlarged by Megatron when creating the Tank Drones. He shares this gun with Getout.
- Shatterpoint's name is an oblique reference to safety testing.
