A lone Autobot boy is stranded on the planet Quintesson!
Synopsis

Somewhere in space, a spiral-shaped ship spins out of control. Out of fuel, landing gears jammed, the ship crashes on the dangerous planet of Quintesson. Only an Autobot boy, Wheelie, survives; his parents perish in the crash.
The Quintessons find Wheelie, decide he must be a spy, and throw him in a dungeon. Wheelie awakes cold, lonely, and surrounded by alien freaks. The Quintessons tie him up and lead him to a pit full of Sharkticons. Realizing he's about to become shark food, Wheelie uses the gangplank as a springboard to escape. Wheelie runs out of the Quintesson fortress and escapes into the jungle, taking up the life of a survivalist. Over time, the Quintessons make many attempts to recapture him, but all fail.
Meanwhile, on Earth, Hot Rod doesn't have to live in a jungle and avoid crazed aliens. He's got friends and a great easy life! Hot Rod, Kup, Arcee, and the Dinobots are preparing to go on a supply mission to the space station on the second moon of Cybertron. Unbeknownst to Kup, Grimlock piles on extra cargo, overloading the ship. Somewhere in space, the ship begins to rattle and shake, going out of control. The Autobots manage to land safely in a jungle somewhere. Kup recognizes their location: Quintesson!
Suddenly, a scream pierces the air, and Wheelie bursts out of the jungle, lobbing fireballs over their heads at the Quintessons who were sneaking up behind them. The Quintessons retreat, and everyone makes Wheelie's acquaintance. Wheelie leads them away, but the Quintessons find them. Another battle ensues, this time with the Sharkticons.
The Dinobots hold off the Sharkticons, while Wheelie leads Hot Rod to his old ship. Hot Rod easily repairs the damage, and fires up the ship. The roar of the engines attracts the Autobots, who happily board the vessel. Wheelie starts to wave good-bye, but Hot Rod urges him to come with them. Wheelie watches Quintesson recede into the distance with relief.

[edit]- The text states that two Quintessons with "five-sided" heads enter Wheelie's cell, so Quintesson Judges, but the illustration shows one Quintesson Bailiff and one Quintesson Executioner.
- The space station… ON the moon? Whah?
- On page 16, Sludge is erroneously credited for identifying the planet as being Quintesson. A page earlier, it was Kup who recognized the planet, which makes more sense.
- The Autobot ship looks a lot less damaged than Wheelie's ship. How come it would have been so much harder to fix?
- If Wheelie's ship crashed because it "had run out of fuel mid-flight", how come the Autobots can fly away in it after fixing but not refueling it?

- Wheelie may be partly blue in this story because of a preliminary deco shown in the catalog shown at right.
- The design of Wheelie's ship is actually a Quintesson corkscrew cruiser.
- Both Hot Rod and Wheelie are described as "boy Autobot", while Arcee is described as "girl Autobot".
- Wheelie has a necklace of Sharkticon teeth. Badass.
- Wheelie's parents die, but there's no mention of what happened to their bodies.
- Oh, also, his parents die. What a happy little children's storybook!
- Arcee is rendered in her earlier design with the shoulderpads facing forwards instead of backwards. She's also got some weird flesh tones in the face and arms.
