Kia Asamiya

Michitaka Kikuchi (菊池通隆, Kikuchi Michitaka, born March 9, 1963), better known by his pen name Kia Asamiya (麻宮騎亜, Asamiya Kia), is a Japanese manga artist, character designer and animator known for his varied manga stories across multiple genres. Some of his best-known manga works are as the creator of Silent Möbius, Compiler, Steam Detectives and Corrector Yui, plus his manga adaptations of properties such as Batman: Child of Dreams and Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, and a short run on Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men.

As an animator, credited under his real name, some of his work includes key animation on Fist of the North Star, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, Project A-ko, and Space Battleship Yamato 2199.

According to fellow animator Nobuyoshi Habara, Asamiya contributed key animation for several early episodes of The Transformers working for Ashi Productions.

Asamiya's own recollection is that he participated in the production of episodes featuring Grimlock and Skyfire.
