Michitaka Kikuchi (菊池通隆, Kikuchi Michitaka, born March 9, 1963), better known by his pen name Kia Asamiya (麻宮騎亜, Asamiya Kia), is a Japanese manga artist, character designer and animator known for his varied manga stories across multiple genres. Some of his best-known manga works are as the creator of Silent Möbius, Compiler, Steam Detectives and Corrector Yui, plus his manga adaptations of properties such as Batman: Child of Dreams and Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, and a short run on Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men.

As an animator, credited under his real name, some of his work includes key animation on Fist of the North Star, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, Project A-ko, and Space Battleship Yamato 2199.

According to fellow animator Nobuyoshi Habara, Asamiya contributed key animation for several early episodes of The Transformers working for Ashi Productions.[1]

Asamiya's own recollection is that he participated in the production of episodes featuring Grimlock and Skyfire.[2]
