  • As with previous years, the special was first released as part of Free Comic Book Day, with a not-free version released the following Wednesday.
  • In the concluding letter welcoming readers to the fourth year of the Energon Universe, Skybound Entertainment Senior Vice-President Sean Mackiewicz teases the upcoming debuts of Lugnut, Knockout, and Skyquake in Transformers.
