Nautica makes a big mistake.

Synopsis

[edit]

An annoyed Hot Shot asks Nautica what she's doing in this comic, as she isn't meant to be here. Nautica shuts him up and tells him to move over, having invited Metroplex to the comic. As the smiling Metroplex slowly takes up more and more of the page, the two terrified Autobots try to ask how Metroplex is doing, only to be met with Metroplex's inhuman wail.

Notes

[edit]

Transformers references

[edit]
  • Hot Shot is repurposed from the unreleased Target-exclusive Universe "Battle in a Box" Smokescreen (with red eyes and a purple Autobot symbol), a toy that was meant to be redecoed from the Armada toy of Hot Shot's positive-universe counterpart.
  • Nautica is based directly on her positive-universe counterpart's design from the 2005 IDW continuity, in the colors of fellow female sea-based Transformer, the pirate Scylla from Beast Wars II.
  • Metroplex was previously mentioned in an Ancient Autobot news ticker seen in the sixth installment of Around Cybertron, implied to be a bad place to live. As such, his colors are based on the trash-based Junkions.

Real-world references

[edit]
  • Metroplex's rictus grin and slow rise seem to be inspired by the title monsters from the manga and anime Attack on Titan (since Metroplex is a Titan).
