Sheila Cranna

Sheila Cranna is a British comics editor who served as the very first editor of the British edition of the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Transformers_%28Marvel_Comics%29" title="The Transformers (Marvel Comics)">Marvel Generation 1 comic</a>, from issues <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Transformers_%28comic_issue%29" title="The Transformers (comic issue)">#1</a> to <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Raiders_of_the_Last_Ark" title="Raiders of the Last Ark">#21</a>. During her tenure she commissioned the first UK originated stories to meet the title's need for more material than the US reprints could supply, and was responsible for introducing <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Simon_Furman" title="Simon Furman">Simon Furman</a> to the world of the Transformers.

Cranna had little empathy for the characters and in mid 1985 willingly ceded the editorial chair to <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ian_Rimmer" title="Ian Rimmer">Ian Rimmer</a>.<sup id="cite_ref-2ndgen_0-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-2ndgen-0" title="">[1]</a></sup> She briefly returned to edit the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Annual_1987" title="Transformers Annual 1987">second Transformers Annual</a> in 1986.

As well as Transformers, Cranna has worked on many other titles including Doctor Who Magazine between 1985 and 1988.
