- Something's going on with Side Burn. Though he speaks like a mirrorverse Side Burn would (gently ranting against "undue attention to females"), there are other indicators that he's not exactly what he seems. He hasn't been with the Autobots long, he already had an Earth mode, and so far he's the only character, short of Crasher and Demolishor, who isn't based on someone from <a href="/wiki/Generation_1" class="mw-redirect" title="Generation 1">Generation 1</a>. Even Blurr notes that Side Burn feels like someone who doesn't belong here, and takes him aside and threatens him. It's likely that Side Burn is the real Side Burn: he is shown in his <a href="/wiki/Universe_%282003_toyline%29" title="Universe (2003 toyline)">Universe</a> body, and at the <a href="/wiki/Image:Optimusprimaluniverseend.jpg" title="Image:Optimusprimaluniverseend.jpg">end of the Universe conflict</a> he was last seen being tossed into a <a href="/wiki/Transwarp" title="Transwarp">transwarp</a> portal by <a href="/wiki/Omega_Prime" title="Omega Prime">Omega Prime</a> (who, in turn, was sent not to his own home timeline but to a <a href="/wiki/Unicron_Trilogy" title="Unicron Trilogy">Unicron Trilogy</a> universe).

- <a href="/wiki/Gygax" title="Gygax">Gygax</a>, the location on Cybertron to which Wheeljack was exiled, is named after <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Gygax" class="extiw" title="wikipedia:Gary_Gygax">Gary Gygax</a>, the creator of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons" class="extiw" title="wikipedia:Dungeons_&_Dragons">Dungeons & Dragons</a>. The name of the text story and several of its settings, themes, and objects are an overt homage to Dungeons & Dragons.
