Dude, there's only THREE of them. That's so not enough for a category. --M Sipher 22:07, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Directors, Executives, Poets have the same; Gangsters, Hippies, and Voice directors have only four; Martial arts, Multimedia, and Scramble City have two. What should the cutoff be, five entries? --Rotty 22:40, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
We've had this discussion before; it was decided to go with over a half-dozen (like, 8+) just so we don't have every single goddamn subgroup ever with its own pointless category when the normal article will suffice. And not everything with more than that really needs to be a Category (like the color-coded Armada game Mini-Con teams).
As for your examples... some of these, I think, need to go. "Poets" and "Hippies" need to go... "Gangsters" can probably stay, as the first issue of Matrix Quest alone should provide us with enough (especially taking into account that the Decepticons were the "robot mob"). "Directors/Voice Directors" can probably be combined, plus if you take into account the sheer amount of creator pages that do not yet should exist, categories along those lines should fill up in due time. (Categories SHOULD be made if there are enough unmade pages that qualify.) Martial arts should go, with the pages shifting to "Transformer culture" or whatever is most appropriate. Scramble City? Drop it. Multimedia... what the hell is in that, anyway? (Looks) Odd category. And... pretty vague. Will have to look into what else conceivably qualifies for it. --M Sipher 03:20, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Your suggestions have been implemented. --Rotty 03:49, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
I strongly disagree on the merging of "Directors" and "Voice directors." They describe two distinct positions, and I would think there would be sufficient numbers of articles for both categories. Surely there will be for directors, once we get around to including more episode directors than just Bob Forward, right? --KilMichaelMcC 04:25, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

If you can't remember what the exact number for the cutoff is (there isn't one), just keep in mind that we specifically do not have categories for combiner teams. So if a category could only possibly have less articles than, say, a potential Computron category, then there had better be a very good reason for making it. --Suki Brits 03:24, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, we have them for combiner teams where there's more than the one team. Like the Constructicons, Seacons, Protectobots and Aerialbots. We're talking a dozen-plus articles in those instances.
Right, that's what I meant. Rather, a SINGLE team. --Suki Brits 04:28, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Martial Arts needs to stay, it's a meaningful grouping, and we're just getting more all the time. (Do we have a page for Tech-Bout?) -Derik 03:29, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Martial Arts... questionable. Apparently DW added "Diffusion" to the mix ("Pit Fighting" as a "martial art" is... really, not worth taking remotely seriously. Might as well call "punch guy in face" a "martial art"). I've not heard of "Tech-Bout". Source? As it stands, that puts us at... five, and I suppose the "importance" of the grouping could be taken into consideration. --M Sipher 04:42, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
