User talk:Optimus prime of many
From MediaWiki
Please stop uploading the packaging shots of that stolen Leader Premium Optimus Prime. We can't use it for the following reasons:
- It's a stolen toy.
- There's a typo in the filename.
- Packaging shots don't show anything useful.
Thank you.--RosicrucianTalk 17:32, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- And again, we still can't use it if there's a typo in the filename, and you have to accurately report the source you got it from.--RosicrucianTalk 17:49, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- Please read your talkpage before you try to add this back in again.--RosicrucianTalk 17:53, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I'm going to make this as simple as I can. If you want to upload images, make sure of the following:
- Is the filename correct? Does it accurately denote what it is depicting? Are the words spelled correctly? (IE in your case it should say Premium Prime)
- Is the file fair use? If it's of an already-released toy, has the photo of it been taken by someone who grants us usage rights on this? Is it an official Hasbro or TakaraTomy promo shot? If so, can we confirm this by going to their website?
If both of these conditions are met, there's a much greater chance we can use the file. However if you give us no info about the source, we pretty much have to assume it's stolen.--RosicrucianTalk 18:05, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, so you got it from TFW2005. Investigating, it appears that these are not official photos released by Hasbro. They are leaked photos added by a user. Thus, we can't use them. Even if we could use them, we'd have to re-upload the picture to a filename that's spelled correctly.--RosicrucianTalk 18:18, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
