This article is about the publishing company. For the noble from the Generation One cartoon continuity, see Sir Wigend du Blackthorne.
Dr. Tongue's 3-D House of Transformers!

Blackthorne Publishing somehow managed to produce Transformers comics in the US and UK while the Transformers license was still held by Marvel Comics. Because they used gimmicks (like 3D), they could claim their products had no overlap with the Marvel Comics, and purchase a separate license from Hasbro.

  • Blackthorne produced 3 issues of The Transformers in 3-D in 1987. The third issue was to be the first part of a multi-part story, but no further issues were ever made.
