Talk:Tracy
Should this article be moved? The character is credited as "Enlisted Aide", meaning she's an enlisted member of the USAF (she even complains about the fact should apparently joined to bring the president ding dongs), and not a regular airline-type flight attendant. --FFN 18:42, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- Gets my vote, that way we could have nameless-designation at the top --Emvee 18:50, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- Seconded! --abates 19:06, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- Although it should probably be Enlisted aide (lowercase). - Starfield 19:10, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- Seconded! --abates 19:06, 22 February 2009 (EST)
Can anyone read This? (I'm assuming that this nametag has a name, not a rank, but I don't know jack about military regalia.) -DerikTalk 19:58, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- Looks like it says "Tracy" to me. --Professor Icepick 20:03, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- Is that from a HD or standard definition version? I agree with it looking like "Tracy". —Interrobang 20:07, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- Looks like it says "Tracy" to me. --Professor Icepick 20:03, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- 720pi. How about this?
- It kinda wants to look like "Track" sometimes in low light, but the lower half of the K is definately missing when you see it full-on. (I think there's some gunk on the button that makes this harder, it catches the light odd.)
- Do we know anyone who knows anything about Air Force Uniforms? This would be a last name, right? -DerikTalk 20:28, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- So is the "V" her first initial, or something? - Starfield 22:02, 22 February 2009 (EST)
The aide has no visible rank indignis, but the movie novelization lists her as a staff sergeant on p89. That is an enlisted rank, so I'm suggesting that this article be moved to Staff Sergeant Tracy. Agree? -DerikTalk 20:44, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- Sounds good to me (and now I'm going to be looking for name tags all through ROTF!). --abates 20:50, 22 February 2009 (EST)
- This kind of thing is fun-- because the novel doesn't name her, the script certainly doesn't name her, the actress herself may not have been aware her character had a name... I'm guessing that the "Air Force 1 Aide" uniform they had in storage just already had this nametag on it. If you went frame-by-frame through some other movie (maybe Air Force One, though that wasn't Paramount... it depends on who they got their costuming through) you'd almost certainly find another Air Force flight attendant named "Tracy." -DerikTalk 21:04, 22 February 2009 (EST)
Recovery
Please say someone has this. :~( -Derik 06:54, 21 March 2009 (EDT)
- We created this article (well, under its original name) some time ago. How come it wasn't on google? Or is this one of those pages we forgot to save? --FFN 08:04, 21 March 2009 (EDT)
- There's a delay between google crawling pages and them appearing in the index. I remember looking for Staff Sergeant Tracy and the March Question submission pages back at the time and they weren't there. --abates 18:25, 6 April 2009 (EDT)
