During the Clone Wars,[1] technology was developed that allowed vehicles to "morph" into a vaguely humanoid "mech mode."[2] In some cases, this transformation was guided (perhaps even created) by the use of the Force.[3] In others, it was a more standard push-button affair.[4]

Mr. Fantastic and Iron Man used alien technology to create mechs for their fellow superheroes.[5] In response, the villain Doctor Doom created battle suits for Venom and Carnage.[6]

Notes
- Many of the Star Wars bios are worded in a way that sounds as though the characters themselves are turning into spaceships. However, several others make a distinction between the character and the vehicle, and all of the toys come with mini-figures of the actual pilots/drivers.
