Packaged alongside the MC Axis resin model kits in 1996 came a pair of one-page comic strips, both written and drawn by Hidetsugu Yoshioka. One comic was packaged with the Arcee model and the other was packaged with the Elita One model.

The stories focus on the adventures of the rarely seen Female Autobots from the Generation 1 cartoon and even establish Arcee as a member of that group prior to her joining-up with the Earth-bound Autobots.

These comics feature a few oddities. Firstly, despite being released exclusively in Japan, they read from left to right like an American comic (something typical of Yoshioka) and are even written in English. Or, rather, that should be Engrish, as they can be a bit incoherent. Secondly, Yoshioka includes a drawing of Optimus Prime's head down by the assembly instructions. For some odd reason, he is drawn in his Marvel Comics Powermaster design.

Issues

Arcee

On Cybertron, following a devestating battle, Chromia, Firestar and Moonracer observe the enemies retreating and presume that things will be quiet for a while. Suddenly, they are attacked from behind by a massive Decepticon. Arcee immediately saves them by killing the villain with a single shot. Arcee reminds the three Female Autobots that war is especially tough on females. They then ponder whether danger is tripled when three beautiful women are involved.

Yeah, we don't get it, either.

Elita One

After defeating a towering Decepticon foe, the Female Autobots celebrate their victory, declaring that they can retake Cybertron all by themselves. Meanwhile, a pensive Elita One realizes that although they talk tough, they are actually worn-out. She wonders when Optimus Prime will return and end the war for good.
