Transformers Wiki participates in Hasbro's roughly-every-other-month Question & Answer session. Our site will be allowed to submit three questions to Hasbro's Transformers team for answering. If you're a registered user at our site, please add your question below!

Keep in mind that Hasbro is not likely to tell us about future product they are not ready to reveal, so keep those sorts of questions to a minimum. Please be as thoughtful about your question as possible! We will similarly reject questions like, "Hasbro, why do you suck so much?" The better and more useful the question, the more likely the admins will choose it to be one of the three submitted. We also reserve the right to edit your question for clarity if need be.

Each registered user can ask one question at this time. Please bullet and sign your question. The deadline for your questions is the evening of Sunday, May 3rd, and answers will be sent back on May 14. If you're a registered member and for some reason you can't edit this page, ask your question on the discussion page, then I or Walky will move it here.

May 2009 questions

  1. Are there any thoughts of creating artbooks like that of Japan's "Transformers Generations 2009" in the US? --Lonegamer78 20:01, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
  2. To what extent is Hasbro allowed to use Tonka Go-Bots characters in new toys? Assuming the trademark to a character's name is available are you limited to homages, or are you allowed to use the character itself?--RosicrucianTalk 20:18, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
  3. If you were forced at gunpoint to redeco Universe Cyclonus into a different character, with no retooling, who would you choose? --ItsWalky 20:21, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
  4. Given the advances in toy design over the last twenty years, if you could go back in time and impart one piece of knowledge to the Transformers design team of the 80s, what would it be? --abates 20:36, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
  5. Has Hasbro given a thought to producing a figure of the upgraded form of Sari Sumdac? Given the fact that a figure of Kicker was produced for the Energon toyline, a figure based on a "human" isn't unlikely. Antimatter 20:59, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
  6. Is anyone on the Transformers team at liberty to discuss the cancelled third series of the 3D Battle-Card Game, as far as what might have been in it character or concept-wise? If not, is there any way TFWiki can liase with someone at WOTC for more info? Hooper_X 10:58, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
  7. This question may concern more the European branch of Hasbro and the part linked to the television distribution, but why was the third season of Beast wars (Animutants) and the whole beast machines show never aired in French, and subsequently, can we expect one day a DVD release of the French version of Beast Wars. Thanks.--GUIGUI 13:33, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
  8. Will the Revenge Of The Fallen toyline, much like its Movie predecessor, feature redecos of non-Movie molds in its assortments beyond the Superion and Bruticus giftsets? --Detour 14:09, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
  9. Once you're done with Transformers: Animated, what's next? --Gurahk2 19:21, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
  10. Any chance there will be a Classics/Universe (2008) style updated Wreck-Gar? With Animated Wreck-Gar, kids will certainly recognize the name, and even the more obscure guys like Smokescreen have done pretty good, so a new Wreck-Gar should sell well. Monty Prime 19:47, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
  11. What kind of background is Hasbro and Takara looking for in toy designers and engineers?; which positions would be looking for a graduate with an engineering degree?KrytenKoro 23:45, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
  12. When fans discuss ideas for new toys on forums, use Photoshop to create hypothetical repaints, etc., does this have any effect on the possibility of those ideas actually being used by Hasbro? An optimistic view would be that Hasbro designers might note the popularity of certain ideas and gravitate towards them. A pessimistic view would be that Hasbro would stay away from those ideas for fear of lawsuits. Which is closer to the truth? - Jackpot 03:20, 27 April 2009 (EDT)
  13. Bumblebee! He's a good character, liked by many. But sadly, Animated Voyager Hydrodive Bumblebee has been delayed/cancelled, along with a group of others! He's not a new character, and the toy has been revealed to the public, so could you please confirm whether he is cancelled or merely delayed, and if he will have a release in 2009? Also, this mould has HIGH retool value. Have you considered a Wasp or Cliffjumper retool? But mostly Wasp, because Wasp hasn't got his earth mode as a toy yet. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gearshift (talkcontribs).
  14. I pretty clearly recall seeing a picture of resin prototypes of Animated Scrapper and Mixmaster during one of the Hasbro presentations at BotCon 2008. Was this image actually displayed, or am I mistaken? Were prototypes of these toys produced? --Thylacine 2000 10:13, 28 April 2009 (EDT)
  15. Universe Overload is a redeco of Cybertron Defense Scattorshot in shades of green and brown, which makes him look a lot like the Generation 1 Micromaster Flak. But his bio makes him out to be the character Overload from the Unicron Trilogy, who the toy does not resemble in any way. What led to this peculiar combination of toy and bio? - RolonBolon 02:56, 29 April 2009 (EDT)
  16. Any hope for a new Shockwave-as-raygun toy on the horizon? Possibly in the Universe line? Excise 08:27, 29 April 2009 (EDT)
