Mech Alive is a gimmick in the Revenge of the Fallen toyline.
Developed by AUTOBOT technicians, and later stolen by DECEPTICON spies, MECH ALIVE Gearing is a powerful advance in TRANSFORMERS battlefield technology. It animates armor plating, letting it adjust to deflect incoming attacks with maximum efficiency. It also reinforces internal gearing, giving both AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS faster reflexes, better aim, and more powerful attacks{{#if:|{{{quote2}}}}}{{#if:packaging copy|packaging copy{{#if:|, {{{3}}}|}}|}}

Mech Alive Gearing features moving panels and/or moving gears and mechanisms when certain areas on a toy's body are manipulated.

It should not be confused with Automorphing, the first movie toy line gimmick, which automates part of the transformation process. Mech Alive is not transformation-based and can still be activated once the toy is transformed. It is intended to represent the constantly moving parts and gears that can be seen on the Transformers in the live-action films.

For example, when the head of Revenge of the Fallen Voyager Class Starscream is turned, drums in his chest rotate. When Leader Class Optimus Prime's head is pushed back, gears in his chest turn as his chest pieces shrug while lights and sounds activate.
