Long before the Great War, the Magnus Hammer was used to forge the AllSpark Container, and became a symbol of Autobot leadership.[2]
As Ultra Magnus and Sentinel Prime journeyed with Optimus Prime to Dinobot Island to investigate his claims about the fate of the All Spark, they were attacked by the Dinobots. Afterwards, Shockwave attempted to use the Magnus Hammer to defeat Ratchet in order to proceed with his plans to abduct Arcee so the Decepticons could gain the control codes for Omega Supreme. Ratchet managed to reclaim the Magnus Hammer, but failed to stop Shockwave. Sentinel Prime demanded that Ratchet give him the Magnus Hammer, but the Autobot medic refused and, stating that he would return it to the REAL Magnus, Ultra Magnus, disappeared through the space bridge back to Earth before Sentinel could do anything about it. Toys
Animated
- Ultra Magnus (Leader, 2008)
- The Leader-class Ultra Magnus toy (naturally) comes with a Stormbringer hammer accessory that fits snugly in the back end of the vehicle mode, once the hammer-heads are compressed and the handle folded up. Unfortunately, necessities of toy design mean the handle does not reach the ground when held in Magnus's hand.
- Roadbuster Ultra Magnus (Leader, 2009)
- Just as Ultra Magnus was redecoed in brown, orange and green, so too was Stormbringer. It retains all of the (minimal) functionality of the original version.
Notes
- The hammer has only been referred to as the "Magnus Hammer" in the cartoon. The box-back bio for the "Roadbuster" version of Magnus gave the hammer its "Stormbringer" name.
