In Japan, the Beast Wars franchise was left un-subtitled for only a year. During this time, the first season of the North American cartoon was aired, and the accompanying toys were released. Each year after that, the line would be rebranded with a subtitle (such as "II" or "Neo"), and more Japanese-exclusive content was added.
Ten years later, the franchise was revisited with the Beast Wars Telemocha Series toys, redecoes of Beast Wars figures packaged with DVDs of first-season episodes.
