Synopsis

Starscream stands in the fire dimension, ready to do battle with Landmine, Overhaul, and Optimus Prime. Landmine and Overhaul charge at Starscream, but Screamer makes short work of them, leaving only him and Optimus Prime standing. Optimus goes into super mode and challenges Starscream, but Starscream effortlessly dodges his cannon blast and smacks Optimus with his swords. Just then, all the Autobots fade out of existence, revealing the battle as some sort of training exercise. Thundercracker arrives to compliment Starscream, but he just ignores it and takes a warp gate outta there.

In the regular dimension, Bud, Lori and Coby are watching a horror movie in a theater, with everyone except Coby enjoying it. After the movie, Lori calls Coby a "scaredy cat", which Coby denies, but Bud proves her right. Back at the Autobot base, Jetfire, Scattorshot and Optimus Prime yuk it up, after which Jolt thinks going to the movies must be fun, and suggests that he come along next time. The Autobots don't think this is such a great idea, but Bud and Lori suggest the Autobots could pretend to be dressing as characters, like fanboys at anime conventions. Optimus thinks they might be a little tall for that. Landmine and Vector Prime enter the room. Optimus Prime asks them about new developments regarding the Cyber Planet Keys, to which Landmine responds that there has been no progress. Vector Prime states the obvious by saying they must beat Megatron to the Keys.

Starscream meets Megatron over a body of water, Megatron asking if Starscream has located the Omega Lock yet. He hasn't, and Megatron accuses him of slacking off, while mentioning his new subordinates Ransack and Crumplezone, who could, according to Megatron, replace Starscream at any moment. Megatron shows off the Planet Map and takes off through a warp gate, but behind his back Starscream pulls out a copy of the map and declares himself more worthy of getting the Keys!

Lori is with his parents, her mom making tea and his dad trying to find Betelgeuse with a telescope. Lori asks his father what he would do if he ever met aliens, when they're suddenly interrupted by the Atlantis Pattern being projected into the sky from some nearby mountains, after which Lori rushes to the Autobot base to inform them of her sighting. Optimus Prime immediately orders the Autobots to roll towards the mysterious projection.

After the Autobots arrive on the scene, surprise! It's a Decepticon trap, set up by Thundercracker with a spotlight. He opens fire on the Autobots, which is observed by two rangers, who decide to head for the mountains to check it out. Thundercracker's attempt to cause an avalanche is foiled by Landmine, after which Optimus Prime responds by firing with his trailer cannons. Just then, Starscream arrives on the scene and is not pleased about Thundercracker acting without his permission. Starscream challenges the Autobots, but Optimus Prime insists on fighting him head-to-head. Starscream charges at him, by is easily thrown back by Optimus in his super mode.

Jolt notices that the rangers who saw the earlier firefight are approaching the area, and notifies Optimus Prime of this. Starscream suggests they call off their duel, which Optimus calls a "sober suggestion coming from one of Megatron's lackeys". Screamer takes offense to this, and bashes Prime a few times before making a hasty exit with Thundercracker. The Autobots return to base, victorious, while the rangers are baffled at the scene of the earlier battle.

Meanwhile, on Velocitron, Hot Shot is trying - with the help of Brakedown and Clocker - to tune himself up so he can beat Override. Red Alert notes that Hot Shot removed his self analysis system, which he considers a dangerous move. Override challenges him again, and even gives him a big advantage. She catches up with and passes Hot Shot in no time, forcing Hot Shot to use his Cyber Key power to get by her. Predictably, something breaks within Hot Shot and he crashes out of the track, but fortunately, he's relatively OK. Override admits to herself that Hot Shot's new pace was impressive.

Elsewhere on Velocitron, Ransack and Crumplezone meet up with Megatron and Starscream. Megatron introduces Starscream, who asks if he can borrow the duo for a while. Red Alert is digging around a junkyard, when he's surprised by Ransack and Crumplezone pointing their lights at him. Starscream is with them, telling the two to attack Red Alert. The battle doesn't go well for Red, and after Crumplezone fires his flame thrower at him, the Decepticons assume he's finished. However, Red Alert leaps out of the flames in his vehicle mode, and uses his Cyber Key power to take care of Ransack and Crumplezone, but Starscream fires at him, leaving him lying in the junkyard. Starscream flies away, musing about beginning the "age of Starscream" with the help of his copy of the Planet Map...
