Cybershark
Cybershark is a Maximal from the Beast Wars era.
Cybershark is a skilled tracker and expert in undersea combat. Though not particularly bright in a general sense he can be quite calculating when it comes to tracking down his prey, and is a fearless, battle-hungry fighter. He honed his skills as a Bounty Hunter tracking down a rogue group of Cybertronian Space Pirates. Though dedicated to the Maximal cause, Cybershark is not a team player, ironicly this often puts him at odds with his commander, the likewise independent Depth Charge (BW).
Fiction
IDW Beast Wars Comics
Cybershark was one of the protoforms left behind by the crew of the Axalon on prehistoric Earth. He was activated and put in chronal phase by Razorbeast at Magmatron's request, but was protected from Magmatron's Predacon shell-program by a viral code Razorbeast inserted. Coming online in his original (non-TM2) form in the middle of the ocean, he was one of the first Maximals to hear Razorbeast's signal.
He is later seen swiming through a narrow strait with fellow sea-bound Maximal Claw Jaw (BW).
Beast Machines
Durring the Beast Machines conflict on Cybertron Cybershark was reformated into a new technorganic hammerhead shark body. (This regression in alt-mode was likely result of the same virus that reverted Cheetor, Primal and the other Maximals back to the original altforms in thier datatrax as well). In his new form he took the name Hammerstrike, and quickly became known as the most destuctive and battle-hungry of the Maximals in their fight against the Vehicons.
(Hammerstrike's toy bio makes it pretty clear he's a new version of Cybershark. How Cybershark reached Cybertron in time for Beast Machines is unknown, but one must assume he was very lucky to find an open waterway there before Megatron's virus transformed him back to a hammerhead and trapped him on land in shark mode.)
Transformers Universe
Sharkticons based on Hammerstrike's design appear in the TF: Universe Wreckers comics but appear to have been an art mistake by Dreamwave.
Toys
Cybershark began the Beast Wars transforming into a hammerhead shark. When a trigger was pushed the top "hammer" part of the head would fire like a missile.
When he was transformed into a Transmetal 2 his meched-out shark mode became more like a classic great white and he gained a flight mode.
Hammerstrike was a technorganic hammerhead with a very odd, alien, spindly looking robot mode. The front, hammerhead part of his toy becomes a weapon that seems to have some sort of jackhammer like attack, as the front slams forward when triggered.
