Talk:Autobot Scrum Combination

Why is this 'Scrum' combination instead of 'Scram' combination? I see Su-Ku-Ra-Mu and think Scramble City. (I know that Scramble City would have a different katakana, but then this is a shortened version.) McFeely had to explain this to me a while back. The word "scrum" is a term used in Rugby to describe a group of people joining in close to form a wall. It's where the football term "line of scrimmage" comes from. "Scrum" is used all the time in Masumi Kaneda-written Transformers stories, including FSRL #3 (Robo Combination Scrumbuster) and 2010 #2 (Scrum formation). "Scrum" is an obscure word, yeah, but it makes sense. Additionally, "Scramble Power" or a shorthand version of the term wouldn't really make sense, anyway. "Scramble" isn't used as a synonym for "combination" in Japan, but to describe certain types of combiners who can swap their limbs and doesn't apply to these guys, who are just moving in tightly in a scrum and shooting lasers out of their asses. --DrSpengler 22:27, 11 December 2009 (EST)
