Eldedroids are Autobot drone warriors in the Generation 1 continuity family.

To combat the progressively more aggressive energy raids of the revitalized Decepticon forces, now commanded by Galvatron II, Wheeljack and Ga'mede put their considerable skills together to create a mass-produced drone warrior capable of taking down opponents psychologically as well as physically. The result was the Eldedroid, a drone warrior built in the image of the most fearsome and powerful Autobot of all, Optimus Prime.

Reproducing not only Prime's appearance, but his energy-absorbing black body coating, the twenty-one Eldedroids are essentially mindless units, controlled by an outside consciousness. The majority of them are under the command of Flip Sides, though at least one is known to be operated by Daniel Witwicky.

When a series of Carbombian shipping vessels were sunk by Decepticon marauders, the Eldedroid controlled by Dann was deployed to meet and defeat the enemy. The Eldedroid eventually stumbled upon a secret undersea Decepticon laboratory, overseen by none other than Megatron, who had recently been deposed as leader of the Decepticons by Galvatron II.

With his opponent unarmed, Dann chose to face Megatron in hand-to-hand combat, as he believed that shooting an unarmed enemy was not "Prime's way". Megatron proceeded to mop the floor with Dann's Eldedroid, though Dann sustained no injury as his physical body was miles away. Dann put on his best Optimus Prime impression, though Megatron immediately saw through the ruse and realized it was not his eternal foe with whom he was actually duking it out.

Megatron then decided enough was enough and informed Dann that he'd be leaving the remains of the undersea lab for the Autobots to clean-up, as well as its closely-guarded experiment: a giant mutated sea monster. MP-1B Cybertron Commander / Convoy Black Ver.
