Seaspray is an Autobot in the Generation 1 continuity.

Earth's ocean: an immense and drastically variable desert made of water, which hides a menagerie of the largest, the smallest, and the strangest creatures on the planet. Sunk in its dark and trackless depths lie ancient and forgotten relics, mingled with the spoils and remains of man. This ocean, this vast mystery, is Seaspray's element, and he loves it dearly.

The oceans of Earth are not alone in his affections. On any planet, at any time, Seaspray is a consummate sailor. As a hovercraft, he can move on land, but not quickly; he feels crippled and barely mobile with solid ground under his feet. Over the foaming waves, however, he skips like a well-thrown stone, able to speed along at 120 knots and travel as much as 4000 nautical miles before refueling. Nor does he hesitate to engage enemy vessels with his laser cannons, relying on mobility for naval superiority, for he is lightly armored, and a single shot could well make him a permanent resident of those mysterious depths which so fascinate his spark.

These cannons are also usable in robot mode, firing from his hands, but because he is not very comfortable on land, Seaspray does not do well in ground fighting. On the water, however, he has few equals.
