Trans-phase mode

I may look dead, but I'm not!

Trans-phase mode is the nebulous, nanite-like form that Sideways and other agents of Unicron sometimes take. Whether it be a nanite cloud, a static-textured tentacle, or his appearance projected onto the sky, it doesn't matter. Regardless of the form, you can't destroy them! Even if you hack them into tiny pieces.

Armada cartoon

When nemesis prime was destroy by Optimus and Megatron a Trans-phased form of Sideways was seen and then simply disappeared before the planet was destroyed.

Notes

• Concept sketches for the Armada cartoon show a 'skeletonized' version of Sideways associated with this mode. The concept was ultimately not used.
