Dark Energon is a powerful corrupted version of Energon which could be used as a violent weapon and explosive.

Dark Energon was experimented on before the Great War, but was decided to volitle and uncontrolable and was left to be guarded by Starscream and his army. Once the war began, Megatron invaded the station, and took the Dark Energon for himself. Weilding the power of Dark Energon, Megatron was able to corrupt circuitry and rip apart doors, as well as corrupt others, such as Omega Supreme, and eventually the core of Cybertron.
