Talk:Dark Energon
Angolmois?
[edit]From the sounds of it, this Dark Energon stuff has a bit of a ring of Angolmois about it. Is there anything officially tying the two concepts together, or no? --Nerroth 02:15, 24 June 2010 (EDT)
- Given that it's a type of energy that is the emmenation of Unicron, supercharges Transformers, addicts them, and fills them with dark violent agression it sounds exactly like Angolmois, but the word is never specifically used in the book.--76.28.76.206 09:20, 24 June 2010 (EDT)
- One might also point out that while incredible similar, there aren't *factories* of Angolmois.76.240.192.105 21:24, 10 July 2010 (EDT)
- Given the synthetic retcons and revelations going on lately, it's possible that this is the new English-language name for Angolmois. Waiting for more information is advised. --Khajidha 21:26, 10 July 2010 (EDT)
Capitalization
[edit]We generally don't capitalize the word "energon" as a regular noun on the wiki. Is "Dark Energon" a different case, or should it be "dark energon"?--Apcog 14:47, 24 June 2010 (EDT)
- While "energon" generally didn't have a capital in internal documentation or things like the Action Cards back in the day, Hasbro seem to have moved towards capitalizing it in modern media. Checking the first four chapters of Exodus that have made it online, I see that the two mentions of regular energon do indeed have a capital. - Chris McFeely 16:08, 24 June 2010 (EDT)
- The subtitles of the game call it "Dark Energon" with a capital. --NCZ 18:48, 11 July 2010 (EDT)
- It is also consistently capitalized in Exodus, as is the term for those affected by it, "Darkened." --RosicrucianTalk 19:00, 11 July 2010 (EDT)
- The subtitles of the game call it "Dark Energon" with a capital. --NCZ 18:48, 11 July 2010 (EDT)
Merge?
[edit]Considering the quoted material from Ask Vector Prime, should we merge this page and Angolmois? --Khajidha (talk) 11:11, 7 October 2015 (EDT)
What counts as a Dark Energon toy?
[edit]I just noticed that G.I. Joe Classified Mole Rat isn't included on the list of toys and I was wondering if that's intentional. He's a human Dark Energon zombie and has both what seems to be a Dark Energon growth on his head as well as a canister of the stuff, but neither of those are outright specified to be dark Energon, merely implied to be Dark Energon.
So do we wait for a full on confirmation before adding him or do we just assume that the guy that was zombified by Dark Energon and was supposed to be mining Dark Energon featuring a purple filled canister includes Dark Energon? Idk how pedantic this wiki is about stuff like that.
For context, here's the description, "G.I. Joe is a highly skilled special operations force of men and women from around the globe. tasked with defending the world from Cobra, a ruthless criminal organization bent on total domination. Prepared to seek out Cobra in any environment on the planet…wherever there’s trouble, G.I. Joe is there. New to the G.I. Joe Classified Series line, Mole Rat comes ready for adventure, with multiple points of articulation for high poseability. This Mole Rat figure contains 7 character-inspired accessories including backpack , scanner, cannister, mutated head, and a drill trigger with drill bit and weapon accessory; plus a footlocker to stow all his gear! While Cobra headhunts top scientists and researchers from across the globe, less-qualified recruits wind up as Mole Rats, quarriers and miners seeking new energy sources to power Cobra’s war machine. Extracting deposits of volatile Dark Energon has sparked certain troopers to become mindless husks bent on destroying anything in their path."
