Fiction

Devil's Due G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers comics

With the defeat of Shockwave, Cybertron fell into Autobot hands, the leaders of which took seat in Capitol City. One of Optimus Prime's first decisions was to send a small squad of Autobots to Earth to oversee the complete removal of Cybertronian technology from the planet. The Art of War #1 Problems arose when it was revealed that Cybertronian technology had been used to create the ultimate weapon: Serpent O.R., who freed himself and travelled to Cybertron. Believing himself to be the late Megatron's son, he molded the scattered Decepticon forces back into one army and launched an attack on Capitol City during a celebration of the peace Cybertron had finally reaquired. The Art of War #3 The Decepticons proved too much for the Autobots, and so Optimus Prime made a deal to hand himself and the Matrix over if the Decepticons would leave the city and its inhabitants alone. The Art of War #4 The city was repaired some time later, after the defeat of the Decepticons. The Art of War #5

Optimus Prime was in Capitol City when he received a request for help from Hawk. He decided to leave for Earth himself, alone, and appointed Ultra Magnus as his replacement. Travel by Space Bridge. Black Horizon, Part 1 of 2

Notes

  • In "The Art of War #3", Perceptor first referred to the city as Capital City. The two times it was named thereafter, in narrative boxes, it was always Capitol City.
  • The G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers is the only Generation 1 continuity in which Cybertron's capital is not (called) Iacon.
