Mindset (G2)
- Mindset is a second generation Cybertronian Empire Decepticon from the Generation 2 portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Mindset never does anything by halves.
A commander of some unspecified rank within the Cybertronian Empire, Mindset considers organic life to be "puddles of organic matter" incapable of creative thought. He likes to "tricurse" things and may be a Xal worshipper. Oh, and he's connected to the Combaticon Onslaught through budding. He gets eaten.

Generation 2
A commander in charge of pacifying (i.e., obliterating) the planet Karn to draw the Autobots and Decepticons out of hiding, Mindset proceeded with his mission in a businesslike fashion, though he didn't understand why the plan would work. How could anyone attach any meaning or value to these "puddles of organic matter"? Neither did he understand why the Swarm failed to fall before his troops' firepower. He and his stormtroopers were devoured, despite his protests, and his destruction mystically gave Onslaught, light years away, sharp pains. Swarm

Transformers (2010)
- Mindset (Deluxe, 2010?)
- Part of the third wave of the 2010 Transformers toyline, Mindset is a retool of Hailstorm, who was designed as homage to Mindset to begin with. He has a different headsculpt from Hailstorm and transforms from a robot with massive rocket launchers on his shoulders into a light blue multiple rocket launcher. As part of the "Reveal the Shield" promotion, Mindset features a Rub Sign. Early reports indicate that his sticker shows the shield of the Autobots.
Notes
- Mindset's relationship with Onslaught is curious. Onslaught is implicitly presented as Mindset's ancestor through budding, but Onslaught was likely built on Earth in 1986. (The Combaticons appeared in the US comics without explicit explanation, but it's implied that they were produced similarly to the other combiner teams. The UK comics elaborate further, claiming the designs for all the Scramble City-type combiners came from Buster Witwicky's mind.) Considering this, it seems impossible for Mindset to have been created from Onslaught millions of years ago. Oops.
- Then again, in the US comics it was never stated openly or alluded to that the Combaticons were created the same way ('stealing' the Matrix's power through the cerebro-shell implanted in Optimus Prime) as the Stunticons. It is entirely possible that they came through the Space Bridge as reinforcements. Further confirming this is that Onslaught is a tactical genius with a lot of battlefield experience, something that he couldn't have gained magically in a matter of days after his creation on Earth.
