I guess being bright pink and blue, he'd have to be a master of disguise so the other Autobots wouldn't have to look at him.

The Aquaspeeders' intelligence expert, Aquafend is an expert in disguise and espionage. He has also spent a lot of time studying the Decepticon mindset, so that he can predict their actions before they can commit them.

(Hint: They're gonna do something eeeeevil.)

Fiction

Timelines: Wings of Honor continuity

Aquafend and his twin brother Jetstorm were brought to life on Earth in the 21st century at one of the Cyberfactories. They grew apart as the Cybertronian Wars returned to Earth and Aquafend joined Pyro's Autobots while Jetstorm became part of Clench's Decepticon Syndicate. The two sides clashed at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland, but the Autobots were overwhelmed by the new model Sharkticons and forced to retreat. After regrouping, Aquafend and Scorch led the main Autobot force in a frontal attack on the Collider facility, distracting the Syndicate so that Rapido's smaller unit could sneak in the back way. They managed to hold out long enough for reinforcements to arrive from Autobot City.

Once the Autobot team was large enough to hold the line, Aquafend led a smaller unit to split off from the battle and enter the complex. He tooks Gobots to rescue the human hostages inside the Collider, but ran into his evil brother and his partner, Deluge. Their feud was interrupted by the fast-spreading forestonite gas, which mutated all Transformers present into super-powered new forms. Aquafend developed the power to generate freezing energy from his fists. The fight soon turned against the Decepticons and they fled, leaving the hostages alive and the Autobots more powerful than ever. Generation 2: Redux

Toys

Generation 1 & 2

  • Aquafend (Aquaspeeder, 1993)
Aquafend transforms into a Baja-style dune buggy. He has a water-squirting rifle connected to a bellows/reservoir backpack; the rifle forms his front bumper in buggy mode while the backpack forms his spoiler. His canopy uses color changing paint, turning pale when exposed to warm water.
This mold was also used to make the Generation 2 Decepticon Color Changer Jetstorm.
