Cosmos is an Autobot from the 2007 movie franchise in the live-action film continuity family.

Cosmos very rarely sees direct combat action. In fact, his specialty is staying out of the action, providing reconnaissance as well as acting as a relay for communication, helping to pass important messages to those in the thick of things.[1]

Before the war, Cosmos was a member of the Science Division. After a battle involving unknown hostiles Defiance issue 1, Cosmos assisted in the expulsion of refuse from the battle at the Burthov launch site. After the launch, he relayed to Grindcore that the boosters had successfully separated from the debris. Defiance issue 3

When the war began, Cosmos quickly joined the Autobots. Cosmos was present on the command bridge of Optimus Prime's ship as it was being readied to launch and intercept the All Spark and Megatron. Like many of his fellow Autobots, he abandoned the dying world in hopes of locating the All Spark somewhere in the vacuum. The Reign of Starscream issue 1 Over time, the Autobots scattered further and further throughout space, looking for any sign of the All Spark. Centuries later, following the defeat of Megatron, Cosmos was part of a team of Autobots led by Arcee. While in orbit of Mars, he reported the arrival of Starscream in the planet's atmosphere to Arcee and the rest of the group on the planet's surface. The Reign of Starscream issue 2

Notes

  • Cosmos was unnamed in his initial Reign of Starscream appearances, and his alternate mode was a mystery. Artist Alex Milne confirmed his identity and altmode in comments on his DeviantArt page[2][3]. He was named in the exclusive content in the Reign of Starscream trade paperback and in later appearances in Defiance. His spacecraft mode was also revealed in Defiance.
