Bluestreak used to live up to his name by talking up a blue streak about anything that entered his mind, important or not. But a few million years of war can change a bot. Now, Bluestreak tends to keep it on "mute", and the blue streaks come from the blurring of his battle-blades.

Part of the second wave of individually-carded Speed Stars mini vehicles, Bluestreak is a redeco of Robot Powered Machines Sideswipe; a small, non-transforming car that looks liek a cross between a Corvette Stingray and an Aston Martin, with through-axle construction wheels for speedy racing on flat surfaces. The toy "transforms" by standing it on its rear bumper, revealing a relief of the robot mode on the underside. Since the toy is a redeco and not a retooling, the raised "SIDESWIPE" nameplate is still there under the robot image, though unpainted.

The package photography shows some differences from the final version, the most obvious being the "BLUESTREAK" tampograph that does not exist on the actual toy. But the photos also show him with silver hubcaps inside the gold rims (the toy has gold rims, but unpainted black hubcaps) and a considerably bigger Autobot symbol on his hood.
