The name or term "Overbite" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Overbite (disambiguation).
Overbites are Decepticons from the Super-God Masterforce portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Candygram!

Overbites are devoid of sentience, like all the Seacons commanded by Turtler, serving only as mindless mass-produced drone warriors designed to overwhelm their opponents by numbers. Overbites can use their lasers with a surgical precision unmatched amongst the Seacon legions, deftly tearing open the bellies of ships, but their sharp super-hardened noses and teeth mean they can rip through them like torpedoes just as easily.

The Overbites can combine with their fellow Seacons to form King Poseidon.

Fiction

Overbites were among the Seacons which accompanied Decepticon Pretenders Dauros and Gilmer on their mission to the Karin Islands, successfully gathering up several human prisoners where their fellow Seacons failed. As the islands' prince, Cab, tracked the Decepticons to the nearby Isle of the Gods, an Overbite attacked him and took him prisoner as well, but he and the other hostages were soon rescued by the Autobots. Terror! The Decepticons' Manhunt On a later mission to disrupt the wildlife of Africa, an Overbite again accompanied the Decepticon Pretenders into battle, being destroyed by Lander. Panic! Protect the Wild Animals!!

The Decepticon Pretenders kidnaped 4 kids in order to draw the new Autobot Godmaster Ginrai. The plan failed but Dauros had on more trick up his sleeve. He gave Turtler the order to combine into King Poseidon, the deadly combiner was able to do some damage but Ginrai's recently discovered trailer came to his rescue and combine with Ginrai to form Super Ginrai. Ginrai was easily able to defeat him now. All of the Overbite and the other drones were taken out but Turtler was left and retreated. Heroism!! The Birth of Super Ginrai

With the debut of the Seacon commander Turtler on the battlefield, at least one Overbite would usually be present in order to combine with its leader, forming a hand-held weapon for the giant King Poseidon. The Seacon combiner battled Autobot Godmasters on an island off the coast of America Heroism!! The Birth of Super Ginrai and in Canada Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter, but they didn't even get the chance to combine before being wiped out during a clash in the French town of Dagneux. Assemble! The Four Godmaster Gunmen Later, A swarm of the creatures backed up the Decepticon Pretenders in a battle on Atlan Island, where an Overbite had the misfortune of going up against Ranger's Head Sand Attack and losing explosively. Overbites were among the swarm of Seacons that besieged British Motors alongside Hydra and Buster. When Turtler opted to flee the battlefield by burrowing underground, one Overbite displayed some unusual self-preservation instincts, diving into the tunnel after its leader rather than waiting to be destroyed. Life? Death? The Desperate Lightfoot Vast numbers of Seacons later attacked Lightfoot in the waters off the coast of Australia when the Autobot investigated the Decepticons' activities in the area, Escape!! The Underwater Volcano Erupts and numerous Overbites joined in the Decepticons' all-out assault on the Autobot headquarters, tearing their way into the base and destroying it from within. Disaster! The Autobot Base Explodes More of the sea-beasts joined in occupying the Autobots' attentions when the powerful Decepticon BlackZarak began cutting a swathe of destruction across Earth. BlackZarak - Destroyer from Space

When Ginrai approached the Decepticon base in order to rescue his captive comrade Shūta Gō, several Seacons, including some Overbites, were patrolling the perimeter and attacked him, forcing him to blast out the base's airlock, sucking himself and his opponents inside. Subsequently, an Overbite was always handy for the formation of King Poseidon, inside the Decepticon base, God Ginrai: Showdown at the Decepticon Base, in a battle on its roof The Ultimate Combination!! BlackZarak, the New Lifeform, in the Grand Canyon, Autobots! Desperate Attack!! and in the Alps, where the Seacons had their final battle with Ginrai, and were once again defeated and destroyed. Years later, when the supernatural creature known as Violen Jiger seized command of the Decepticons, his first act was to recruit nine "Demon Generals" from Decepticon history. Toys

Super-God Masterforce

  • Overbite (Seacon, 1988)
    • Japanese ID number: D-313
    • Accessories: "Cannon Gun", "Tripod Rifle", connector, weapon stand base
Overbite transforms into a green, purple and magenta robotic shark-monster, armed with a purple "Cannon Gun" which can mount beneath its jaw in creature mode, or in the robot's fist. The guns forms the barrel of Overbite's third mode; an artillery emplacement that mounts on top of a stand formed from three individual components. The central piece of this stand, the "Tripod Rifle", can also be wielded as a weapon by robot-mode Overbite.
Overbite combines with his fellow Seacons to form King Poseidon. Although he is nominally wielded in his artillery mode as a hand-held weapon by the super-robot, as a "Scramble City" style combiner, Overbite can form any limb for King Poseidon (or any other combiners that use the Scramble City design).
This mold was released concurrently in Hasbro markets as the American Seacon also called Overbite, with no notable differences between the two. The toy was later redecoed into Beast Wars II Sea Phantom, and then back into the American Overbite, with a new coloration for the Transformers Collectors' Club exclusive Piranacon giftset.
  • King Poseidon (Gift set, 1988)
    • Japanese ID number: D-318
Unlike the Hasbro Seacon box-set, which excludes Nautilator, the Takara King Poseidon box-set comes with all six members of the team; Turtler, Overbite, Gulf, Kraken, Lobclaw, and Tentakil. The individuals are identical to their individually boxed releases.

Notes

Even Jabberjaw mocks these guys
  • None of the Masterforce Seacon drones were ever depicted in robot mode in the cartoon or manga. The toy's package art is the only known "fictional" depiction of an Overbite in robot mode.
  • Unlike all his fellow Seacons, Overbite did not appear in Zone fiction. Although the team was permanently combined as King Poseidon, the combiner did not wield Overbite in gun mode.
