It was always Leftfoot's dream to design and build cars himself, and to accomplish his life's goal, he left his job at a run-down automotive workshop in England and moved his family to Canada. Mining ore from a strange black rock he found deep in the Rocky Mountains, Leftfoot completed his prototype dream car on the night of his son's second birthday, and it proved to be a monumental success, leading to a string of wildly popular car designs that put Leftfoot on the map and led to the foundation of his own company: British Motors.
Fifteen years later, Leftfoot gifted the original prototype car to Lightfoot on his seventeenth birthday. After driving the vehicle for the first time, however, Lightfoot found his dreams plagued with visions of a giant robot. Unsure of what to do, Lightfoot chanced upon a television appearance by the Autobot Godmaster Ginrai, who was searching for other Godmasters and appealed to all the viewers to send him letters about any strange experiences they were having. Lightfoot sent Ginrai a letter along with a drawing of the robot he had been dreaming of, and Ginrai quickly made his way to Canada, where he met with Lightfoot at the British Motors complex. Lightfoot told Ginrai the story of the company, and Ginrai immediately put his suspicions to the test by giving Lightfoot a pair of Master-Braces. Ginrai's theory proved correct: Lightfoot was indeed a Godmaster, and the prototype car was his Transtector! Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter
British Motors later entered a car in the F1 World Grand Prix at the Rouen Circuit in France, and Lightfoot brought the Autobot Headmaster Juniors with him to watch the race. British Motors' driver, Carl, was caught in a serious crash during the race, but escaped unscathed just before his car went up in flames. The race bore unexpected fruit, however, when the winner, Road King, was discovered to be the fourth Autobot Godmaster. Assemble! The Four Godmaster Gunmen Lightfoot took advantage of the celebrity status of this new addition to the Autobot forces by asking Road King to record a commercial for British Motors, but while they were filming, Lightfoot's father was kidnapped by the Decepticon Godmasters, Hydra and Buster. The Autobot Godmasters joined forces to rescue Leftfoot, and the grateful CEO donated one of British Motors factories and a weath of staff to the Autobots for them to use in the construction of their "Bomber Project". To pay Leftfoot back for his kindness, all four Godmasters starred in the company's commercial. Life? Death? The Desperate Lightfoot

The Autobots were able to make great strides in the Bomber Project, operating in secret in the subterranean British Motors facility, but before long, the Decepticon Pretenders discovered their hiding place, and the evil robots initiated an all-out attack on the factory. While the Autobot Pretenders worked diligently to complete the Bomber Project, Lightfoot, Ranger, Road King and the Headmaster Juniors engaged the Decepticons on the ground above. After the Pretenders were defeated, Road King managed to lure Hydra and Buster into the nearby forest, where he and the other Godmasters sent them packing. Will the Bomber Project Be Destroyed!?
The Bomber Project was subsequently completed, resulting in the creation of the drone Godbomber. At the British Motors test track, Ginrai merged with the drone and took off for space to battle Overlord and BlackZarak on the moon. God Ginrai - Into the Sky!! After the success of this mission, Godbomber was returned to the British Motors factory, where it was upgraded with cargo space to carry the Headmaster Juniors' Transtectors.
