The Decepticons invaded Sperity in search for energy, and the inhabitants of the planet secretly evacuated with their energy to the twin planet of Toruin. Darthner was the leader of a council maintaining the evacuation and watching the battle between the Decepticons and the newly-arrived Autobots. Darthner contacted Commander Kuran to check on progress, and noted that it would take a hour to complete evacuation, ordering the ministers to be evacuated. Darthner also told the soldiers still on Sperity to turn their cannons on automatic and evacuate as well.
The Autobots, not knowing of the evacuation and planned decepticon, pointlessly battled the Decepticons. Brainstorm, having discovered the underground city at Toruin and spoke with Kuran, went to Sperity to warn the other Autobots. Once Brainstorm arrived at Sperity through the tunnel attaching the two planets, Darthner informed Brainstorm of the Twin Star government's decision; that being the detachment of Toruin from Sperity after evacuation was complete.
As they were safely drifting away from Sperity and the Decepticons, Darthner thanked the Autobots for their assistance. Battle for Defense of the False Planet
