Toy Inclusion
Just a question I have about including all versions of the characters on a page like this. Yes, the original toys of Whirl and Roadbuster are referred to as Deluxe Vehicles, but since it's a toy designation, and not an actual team (like say, Protectabot or Wrecker), would all toy versions of the characters belong here, or just the original toys. Not all versions of Bumblebee would go on the mini vehicle page.Riddlerj 19:54, 15 January 2011 (EST)
- I think you have the right idea. This page appears to have been treated as though "Deluxe Vehicles" was used in fiction to denote the team of Roadbuster and Whirl. However, nothing on the page shows that that designation was used in such a manner. In lieu of any evidence to the contrary (and I suspect there is none), this page should probably be pared down quite a bit. Reduce the toys to just the G1 molds and probably cut the fiction section altogether. --Tigerpaw28 20:16, 15 January 2011 (EST)
- I can agree about the toys, I disagree about the fiction. My stance on "toy-only" subgroups is that they are a fictional subgroup too if the fiction displays an effort to make the members operate alongside each other. The DV's being only a two-man band, that's not as easy to argue for as, say, a ship full of "not"-Mini Vehicles, but I think Whirl and Roadbuster are paired up enough to call 'em a unit, even outside of Wrecker context. As for the toys, I added all because A.) I'm not sure what the definition of "Deluxe Vehicle" is, B.) I'm not sure whether the other toys are new bodies or re-interpretations of old bodies, C.) lots of subgroup pages list later toys that are never said to belong to that group. They can be removed for all I care. Geewunling 04:31, 16 January 2011 (EST)
- I agree with Tigerpaw28, "Deluxe Vehicles" seems like a toyline only grouping. Our model for this page should be Autobot Cars. --Khajidha 10:53, 16 January 2011 (EST)

- Exactly, the Autobot Cars article is the PERFECT template for this. The fiction section and toys that were not from 85 should GO. They have no buisness on a toy only group page. Find this term used in fiction and that stuff can be added back, but if it isnt that stuff doesn't belong here.
