The sound and light show is a weapon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
I don't even know why we keep using these goggles.

Jazz doesn't say "do it with style or don't do it at all" just because it sounds witty. He truly means it. When he hits the Decepticons with the sound and light show, their sensors are treated to a dazzling display of light and sound...one which can overwhelm them.

Man, Jazz is tripping BALLS right now

Jazz first tested out his new sound system a safe distance from Autobot Headquarters, and managed to vibrate the nearby cliff face enough that it managed to disintegrate. When he returned to headquarters, it was to find that the rest of the Autobots had been turned evil by Megatron's personality destabilizer. After Sparkplug Witwicky whipped up an attitude exchanger, Jazz used his sound and light show to distract Bluestreak long enough for Sparkplug to use the new device to reverse the destabilizer's effects. Later on, the Decepticons tried to take off with a solar satellite, and Jazz climbed out on Skyfire's nose to give them a blast of sound and light. Attack of the Autobots

After Wheeljack's Immobilizer fell into the hands of the Decepticons, Jazz used his sound and light show to distract them while Carly sabotaged the device. The Immobilizer He tried to use his sound and light show on Nightbird, only for her to take out his speakers with throwing stars. Enter the Nightbird Korlonium crystals, according to Jazz, put on a flashier show than his stereo system. A Prime Problem

Lights are a sometimes show.

His sound and light show was enough to keep Devastator busy while Mirage and Sunstreaker used ropes to trip the giant up. The Core It also proved most effective in scaring off a bunch of time-displaced cowboys, who immediately mounted up and fled back to their own time. Dinobot Island, Part 2 It worked handily on Starscream and Soundwave when they attempted to steal the plans to the Ultra Plane, however on a later mission Cybertonium depletion caused his sound and light show to malfunction, resulting in him being beaten by Blitzwing. Toys

Let's see what you can see...

This article is in need of images.

Specifics: toy
  • Special Ops Jazz (Deluxe, 2010/2011)
The 2010 version of Jazz comes with two speaker accessories that attach via C joints to the inside of his doors and can be folded out over his windows in either mode. This is clearly meant to reference his deployable speakers in the cartoon, particularly their location in car mode. They can also attach to any other Transformers toy that uses C joints, which presumably would confer at least the sound half of the sound and light show.

Notes

  • Jazz's original packaging bio rates his speakers at 180dB,[1] roughly the equivalent of a stun grenade, and right near the theoretical upper limit of sound volume.[2]
