- Deployers are Minicons from the Prime continuity family.
Deployers are Soundwave's Minicons that he deploys from his chest. While small by Cybertronian standards, at least one of them is larger than an Earth helicopter.

Prime cartoon
When Soundwave intercepted a message from Agent Fowler, Soundwave released one of his deployers (which was resting on his chest) to bring Fowler to the Decepticon ship. After chasing Fowler's helicopter, the drone grabbed Fowler with his tentacles and returned to the Decepticon base. Darkness Rising, Part 3

After Soundwave picked up a possible signal from Megatron, who was previously assumed dead, Starscream went to investigate. Untrusting of Starscream, Soundwave decided to keep an eye on him by sending the deployer Minicon after him. After finding Megatron, Starscream intended to allow Megatron to perish, but was forced to reconsider when he discovered Soundwave's Minicon watching him. Masters & Students
Notes
- The Deployer in the Prime cartoon deploys from Soundwave in a method more reminiscent of the Breastforce's Breast Animals than the Generation 1 inspired method used in War for Cybertron.
- The producers intended the Deployer in "Darkness Rising" as a homage to Laserbeak, but declined to say whether it was him.[1]
