Eshems aliens are beings from the live-action movie continuity family

Not cast in the Star Trek movie.

Within the Eshems Nebula are a group of power-hungry aliens traveling the stars. They are biologically close to Cybertronians in some ways.

When the aliens of the Eshems Nebula detected a powerful energy source coming from a planet light years away, they launched several scout vessels, resulting in a minor skirmishes with Starscream, himself scouting nearby space. Eventually, they launched a full-scale assault on a peaceful Cybertron to claim the source of the signal, but were repulsed. Defiance #1 Ratchet examined one of the bodies of the aliens in the post-battle cleanup, finding their biology eerily similar to those of a Cybertronian, even having what might be a spark core. But before more study could be done, a suddenly-emboldened Megatron rallied his troops in a brutal counterattack, wiping out the entire fleet. Defiance #2 Megatron later remarked to his new master that if any of them survived, they would speak of Cybertron's power. Defiance #3

And nobody ever spoke of them again.
