Marvel Comics continuity

Sammy, Jed, and Allan went to an empty train yard to play Space Wars. Jed had to take Robin along to babysit, which Sammy didn't appreciate as Robin wasn't interested in the others' pretend play and wanted to go home to play with Daisy. Just then, the sight of a police car driving by briefly forced them into hiding. Later, Jed spotted a motorcycle with no rider. The other kids thought he was playing another joke, so they followed him to prove he was right. During their walk, Robin complained that Daisy was tired.

Sammy went exploring and discovered Blaster, who was mode locked and deposited in a pipe. The tape deck spoke, which freaked out Sammy and sent him to the other children. Robin calmly found the "pretty" radio and presented him to the other children, which allowed him to display his speaking abilities to all of them.

A nearby battle between Bruticus and Defensor finally came within visual range of the other children, scaring them; Robin wanted to go home. Blaster, having asked the children, had his mode lock removed by Allan, against the wishes of the other children. The four children were initially scared of the giant robot, and Robin asked Blaster not to hurt Daisy. Blaster assured the five that they had nothing to worry about.

To fool Bruticus, who had defeated Defensor, into believing that Blaster had no loyalty to the Autobots, Blaster and the children put on a show where Blaster "shot" Sammy. The distraction allowed Blaster to put Bruticus out of commission, and Blaster received permission from Defensor to escort the children to safety.

The children, seeing Blast Off inert, convinced Blaster to accompany them into space by mode locking Blast Off and using him to travel into outer space. Unfortunately, another spaceship, the Ark, was nearby and decidedly hostile to Blast Off. Child's Play
