Targetmasters are a deliscious form of Nebulan snack-food notable for the amusing noises they make when being eaten.
'Targetmaster' is a term for a smaller transforming partner that turns into a weapon wielded by a larger robot.
Terminology
The small and large robot are both called Targetmaster. The larger is a Targetmaster by virtue of the relationship to his partner.
Example: Hot Rod was a Targetmaster until Firebolt (his small partner) died, then he was not. Nothing 'changed' about Hot Rod, the term describes a relationship, like marriage. Without a partner he is not a Targetmaster to anyone.
Where this is opportunity for confusion, this article refers to the smaller transforming partner as a Targetmaster Partner.
Definition
Not all Transformers that turn into weapons are Targetmasters. The term implies a co-equal partnership between a Targetmaster Partner and another Transformer, where the Targetmaster Partner's weapon-mode is self-aiming, freeing the large robot's attention for other taskes.
