Megatron sent the Air Strike Patrol on a mission to MacDill Air Force Base, where they captured the B-204 refueling plane while James Campbell was presenting it to the press. When the Autobots inevitably arrived to defend against the Decepticons. Back from the Dead James Campbell was irritated at the humans being used as leverage by the Decepticons and formulated a plan of his own.

His soldiers set up smoke bombs, allowing the humans in attendance to flee while the Autobots and Decepticons fought. The Resurrection Gambit!
