Isn't this usually spelled "Jargua" or "Jaruga"? I've never seen this spelled with the extra "r" on the end.--MCRG 00:47, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

The "ga" at the end of his name is extended, which typically signifies "gar". Or "gaah", but that looks sillier. --M Sipher 01:08, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Is "Jarugā" a Japanese word or were they intending to give this character an English-language name of Jaguar and perhaps got it a little wrong? If they were trying to give it an English-language name can we cut them a little bit of slack and call him "Jaguar"? (How do they spell "Jaguarbreast"? Jarugarbreast?) - Starfield 11:59, 3 September 2009 (EDT)

While they may have had the word "Jaguar" in mind, I think the spelling error was intentional. Ravage's Japanese name was "Jaguar", spelled "ジャガー", while Jarugar's name is spelled "ジャルガー". So I'd say that while "Jarugar" may be derived from the word "Janguar", it's still a funny made-up name like "Rhinox" or "Cheetor" and should be refelcted as such on this wiki. --DrSpengler 12:33, 3 September 2009 (EDT)
The addition of the a 'u' or an 'r' seems presumptuous, to be neutral I think we should render it either Jaluga or Jaruga. - Terrortron 19:00, 26 May 2011 (EDT)
Not to mention the fact that it's been reduced from three vowels to two as it stands currently. - Terrortron 19:06, 26 May 2011 (EDT)
I don't think you understood one iota of the above discussion. Get back to me when you understand English-to-Japanese transliteration. (Ignoring the fact that, y'know, "Jallguar" is what is on the toy's package.) —Interrobang 20:26, 26 May 2011 (EDT)
Really? I thought I got most of it OK, granted my knowledge is primitive at best. But, if that's the romanization on the package use that (missed that sentence in the notes). - Terrortron 00:22, 27 May 2011 (EDT)
