It is written that "Unlike real spiders, Airachnid has compound eyes."
Perhaps another feature that may distinguish her from spiders is that she walks on six legs, instead of eight (unless one counted her robotic legs as her 7th and 8th). Sharky857 12:15, 17 April 2011 (EDT)

I figured that since she keeps her arms in...alternate mode (can't really call it a beast mode) she has the necessary eight limbs. -- SFH 12:24, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
Great minds think alike SFH, I was also about to post that Airachnid's arms are the last set in her eight limbs. Alientraveller 12:27, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
Hmm, you're right. I never counted her arms as 7th and 8th leg, because... Well, they are arms and not legs. Anyway, I see your point. Sharky857 14:50, 17 April 2011 (EDT)

She turned into a drill at the end.--Primo 15:57, 17 April 2011 (EDT)

She used her legs to drill, she didn't transform into one. Alientraveller 16:10, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
Correct, she was still in her robot mode when she drilled. --ItsWalky 16:14, 17 April 2011 (EDT)

Can we put this somewhere in the article?: "Airachnid transforms from a spider-like robot to a robot-like spider."

Possible jet mode?

I saw what looked like two halves of a jet's cockpit on the backs of Airachnid's shoulders. Is that worth noting, or should it wait until we see that she actually has some sort of jet mode?

Everyone seems to be pretty sure she's a helicopter. --ItsWalky 22:51, 18 April 2011 (EDT)
That makes more sense!

G1 Insecticon colors?

Can someone explain to me why this info should be on this page when it can't be proven this was an intentional homage?--Roni134730 23:56, 18 April 2011 (EDT)

I kind of think the burden of proof is on you to prove that a Bug Decepticon in predominantly black with gold and purple is entirely by accident. --ItsWalky 00:03, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
A spider-like female decepticon with a color scheme which is specifically attempting to homage the 3 original male Decepticon insects? If she shared any design or character attributes with the Insecticons I'd find it more likely, but as is... I note it as a possibility. But I suppose mabye I'm just getting a little too concerned about getting an official source for the info. Actually, I'm surprised no one is arguing that they are Blackarachnia's colors.--Roni134730 00:53, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
Blackarachnia is more purple and less black. I'd sooner believe Arachnid's colours to be a homage to the Insecticons... Even if I feel like raging that spiders aren't insects. Geewunling 01:48, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
Airachnid has compound eyes like an insect's, though. --Detour 02:36, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
Also there's the episode's pun about Jack and the "large insects" he has to swat at the beginning and end. --ItsWalky 08:48, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
Actually, purple was only introduced on Blackarachnia (character model-wise) with her Transmetal 2 form, and even then wasn't really a staple 'color' for her character until Animated. (Her Beast Machines form was magenta. Yeah, I said it.) Boy Blunderous 23:28, 14 May 2011
Wouldn't Animated Blackarachnia be a much closer homage?24.13.125.86 01:33, 12 May 2011 (EDT)

Three Modes

Now that Airachnid's officially confirmed to have a helicopter mode, I believe it is ok to label her a 'Transformer with three modes'. Unless Hasbro officially labels her a Triple Changer.--Cydra 02:47, 26 June 2011 (EDT)

We still don't know if she abandoned the...spider alternate mode (can't really call it a beast mode) so I'd say we wait until we know for sure. -- SFH 12:17, 26 June 2011 (EDT)

Instead of concrete Airachnid, shouldn't it be an image of her helicopter mode? User:Eire Jun 26 2011 14:40

Yes, it definitely should. --ItsWalky 12:34, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
Is there a reason we couldn't have both? This image is kinda funny, and I figure there will be many (better) opportunities to get a good shot of her altmode. Concrete-covered Airachnid, not so much. Geewunling 12:59, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
