Aquaspeeder

The Aquaspeeders are an Autobot subgroup from the Generation 2 portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Aquaspeeders are a group of four Autobots armed with weapons that fire high-pressure liquids. They consist of:

• Speedstream, the fearless leader
• Aquafend, the deep-cover spy
• Deluge, the "tough bot"
• Jetstorm, the hot-shot defensive expert

The team's evil Decepticon counterparts are the Stormtroopers.

Sold individually, the Aquaspeeders are a squad of racing vehicles, each with a bellows-fed water squirting "cannon". Each robot's hood/chest is covered in color changing paint, turning pale when hit with warm water (or being left out in the sun).

They were only available in various European markets and Australia during the two-year "transitional" period marking the changeover from the original toyline to Generation 2; in the original line's final year (1993), the toys were given redesigned Autobot and Decepticon symbols, but it wasn't until 1994 that "Generation 2" appeared on the packaging.

The Aquaspeeders were redecoed into the Generation 2 Color Changers for American markets.
