The "giant instant camera Autobot" is an Autobot who served under Star Saber in Sector 01 when Jan was still a child.
He (or she) transforms into a camera ~8 feet (2.5 meters) wide, with accompanying tripod. As a camera it posesses a laser sight, zoom lens and a powerful flash. It dispenses instant film photos from a slot in its base.

When Jean Minakaze was a small child the "giant instant camera Autobot" took a photo of him with Wing and Tacker on and unidentified planet.
Many years later as Star Saber was explaining to Headmistress Mabel how Jean came to be in the Autobots' care he fondly recalled on the memory of then-toddler Jean attempting to hold the nearly-lifesize print which resulted. Attack! Leozack
