The giant instant camera is a piece of equipment (or possibly a character) from the Victory cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family

The "giant Autobot instant camera" is a tool used by Star Saber's Autobots stationed in in Sector One when Jean was still a child.

The camera is ~8 feet (2.5 meters) wide, not including the accompanying tripod. It possesses a laser sight, zoom lens and a powerful flash and dispenses instant film photos from a slot in its base.

Victory cartoon

When Jean Minakaze was a small child the "giant Autobot instant camera " took a photo of him with Wing and Tacker on and unidentified planet.

Many years later as Star Saber was explaining to Headmistress Mabel how Jean came to be in the Autobots' care he fondly recalled the memory of then-toddler Jean attempting to hold the nearly-lifesize print which resulted. Attack! Leozack

Notes

  • It's possible that the camera, which is insanely large and sports an Autobot symbol, is in fact an Autobot with a camera altmode.
