The name or term "universe" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see universe (disambiguation).
The universe is from the Marvel Comics portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Fragments of the old realms explode, creating the universe.

According to Primus, the universe came to exist after the void exploded. It has a sentient core.

Fiction

Marvel Generation 1 comics

Primus explained to the Transformers and humans assembled on Cybertron that Unicron consumed every planet, galaxy, and very nearly all the stuff that existed, leaving only the void. The tiny leftover fragments of the old realms that he missed reacted in an explosion causing a chain reaction which, over trillions of years, eventually led to the universe as it was known then by the assembly of Transformers and humans. The sentient core of the universe sensed that Unicron was a threat to its existence, so it created Primus to oppose him. The Void!
