"Scientific dogma holds that they became extinct 65 million years ago, but this belief has been reassessed in recent years." Was this written by a creationist or a mokele mbembe believer? I think it's a referencs to the fact that dinosaurs aren't extinct in Transformers. What with Dinobot Island and the Savage Land. --KilMichaelMcC 03:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Reworking the article?

This will probably be ignored, but I think we should consider expanding this article to talk about how (in the relevant fiction sections) dinosaurs existed on other worlds (even if they don't actually appear) seeing as characters on that world are depicted in dinosaur forms. I think it's kind 'meh' just to say "These characters turned into dinosaurs", which is what much of the article says. --FFN 04:42, 14 April 2009 (EDT)

I'm going to agree with FFN here, rather than start my own segment. This article is just a list of characters who transform into Dinosaurs, rather than being about dinosaurs themselves. Would anyone object to a wholesale rewrite? --Jimsorenson 20:48, 15 October 2009 (EDT)

Magmatron is composed of a Giganotosaurus, an Elasmosaurus and a Quetzocoatlus. Elasmosaurs are plesiosaurs, Quetzalcoatlus is a pterosaur, Giganotosaurus is a theropod dinosaur. Disambiguation

Is Dinosaur (dinosaur) really the best we can come up with? How about moving this to Dinosaurs (currently a redirect here)? --Khajidha 22:31, 14 August 2011 (EDT)

I thought "Dinosaur" was perfectly fine. It's not necessary to disambiguate absolutely everything, especially when the non-disambiguated title redirects here anyway. —Interrobang 22:38, 14 August 2011 (EDT)

(animal) might be a better identifier, yeah. I simply didn't think of that when disamb'ing it. But I do think it needs an identifier. This page might be the more prominent use of "dinosaur", but the others aren't exactly small game. It's easier to check the accuracy of a link if all dinosaur pages have identifiers then when anything leading to "dinosaur" should just be assumed to be correct and not the work of someone forgetting to put up an identifier.
